What is the shelf life of my product in a Pulpex bottle?
Product shelf life depends on the product formulation, filling conditions and storage environment. Pulpex provides product-specific briefing information separately where required.
What Quality Management System does Pulpex use?
Pulpex operates its sites under BRCGS, a recognised GFSI standard.
Are Pulpex bottles independently certified as food-safe?
Yes. Pulpex bottles have been through extensive food safety testing and are supplied with Declarations of Conformity to meet relevant European safety standards, including Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 and Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.
Are water-based inks food-contact safe?
Yes. Pulpex Declarations of Conformity include the use of water-based inks for decoration.
Do Pulpex bottles affect product taste?
Pulpex tests organoleptic performance to ensure there is no impact on product quality. Pulpex bottles have been used for wine brands, a demanding application because of wine’s oxygen sensitivity.
What are Pulpex’s FSC and PEFC certificate numbers?
Pulpex’s FSC Certificate Number is INT-COC-002686. Pulpex’s PEFC Certificate Number is INT-PEFC-COC-002686.

Why do we need a paper bottle? Glass is great, and recyclable too.
At Pulpex, we believe consumers should decide what type of bottle they prefer to use. Glass bottles are created using a lot of energy (which can create CO2 emissions) and recycling glass also takes a lot of energy. Many glass bottles are not recycled, especially in geographies with poor recycling infrastructure. Glass bottles that aren't recycled can last hundreds of years in the natural environment and if broken can create a safety hazard to humans and animals.
